Monroe Alvarez is not only a seasoned photographer, she’s also a founder of GRLSWIRL, a grassroots, all-female community in Venice Beach focused on uniting women through skateboarding. In less than two years, GRLSWIRL has seen incredible growth and support from around the world, leading them to start chapters in other cities. Whether at a skating meet-up or giving back to girls in Mexico, these women are making a difference through one of the most male-dominated sports.
